Welcome Village of Oak Brook Residents!
In 2011, Oak Brook voters approved a referendum for electric aggregation and authorized the Village to negotiate electricity supply rates for its residents and small businesses through an opt-out Electricity Aggregation Program. The Village’s current Aggregation Program will end with the June 2015 billing cycle. The Village is now providing you with the opportunity to participate in its 2015 - 2017 Electric Aggregation Program. After another competitive bidding process this year, the Village chose Eligo Energy IL, LLC ("Eligo"), a leading retail electricity supplier based in Chicago, to supply Oak Brook’s Electric Aggregation Program.
While electricity prices have risen over the past few years, the Village was able to lock in a fixed rate of $0.06754/kWh through June 2017 for residents and small business consumers. This rate is lower than ComEd’s expected Price to Compare (PTC) through May 2016 (~$0.0704 - $0.0718/kWh*). The PTC for the period following May 2016 will be established in May 2016.
There is nothing you need to do in order to participate in the savings. We will automatically process your enrollment, unless you return the opt-out card that you received by mail within 21 days of the postmark date on the notice. After your enrollment is finalized, Eligo Energy will send you a letter confirming your enrollment and welcoming you to the Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Program.
Qualifying Village residents who previously opted-out of the program, recently moved to the Village of Oak Brook community, or are receiving service from another supplier may still enroll in the program. Click the Enroll button below to enroll today through our quick, easy enrollment process. In addition, Eligo will continue to send opt-out letters several times a year to eligible Village customers who have recently opened accounts with ComEd, ensuring that every customer has an opportunity to opt-out before being enrolled.
ComEd will continue sending monthly bills, responding to outages, and delivering electricity. No one from the Aggregation Program will ever come to your door to ask you to switch to a new supplier. Anyone who does come to your door is NOT with the Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Program.
If you have questions about the Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Program, please see Frequently Asked Questions and Terms and Conditions sections. You can also call us at 312-260-0885.
Sincerely,
Eligo Energy Team
What is a municipal aggregation?
Municipal aggregations are groups of customers, or entire communities, that unite to pool, or aggregate, their energy buying power. By pooling their buying power and negotiating the price of power from a supplier other than the traditional utility, municipal aggregations can often save participants money on their electricity bills. ComEd would still be responsible for delivering that power to your home, responding to outages, and billing you for it.

What is my rate under the Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Program?
As an eligible member of this program, you will automatically receive a price of 6.754 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
How will the Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Program impact my current situation and electricity bill?
The impact of the Aggregation Program is primarily savings. Your utility bill will remain the same other than a price reduction on energy supply. You will continue to receive a single bill, make one payment, and continue to receive all other services through ComEd.
Presently, the Electric Aggregation Rate is significantly lower than ComEd's Price To Compare.
Electricity Supplier | Price per kWh |
---|---|
ComEd's Price to Compare* (June 2015 - May 2016) | 7.04¢ - 7.18¢ |
Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Rate July 2015 – June 2017 | 6.754¢ |
*ComEd's price to compare is subject to change seasonally in June (summer rates) and October (non-summer rates) and also includes a Purchased Electricity Adjustment of ± 0.500 ¢/kWh – a component of ComEd's supply charges (see www.pluginillinois.org).
When will I begin to see Eligo Energy’s lower generation rate on my bill?
Eligo’s lower rate will take effect within your next 1-2 billing cycles starting in June/July of 2015 and depending on your meter read date.
What part of my electricity bill will this program affect?
Your electricity bill generally has several cost components – distribution and supply. The aggregation program changes only the supply component of your bill. All other components of the bill will not be affected.
Will I continue to get one monthly bill from ComEd?
Yes, you will be billed exactly as you always have been by ComEd and will receive one monthly bill for all charges. The only difference you’ll see on your electric bill is that Eligo Energy will be listed on the generation portion of your bill, and the lower cost electric generation rate will be used in your billing.
Are there additional fees for participating in aggregation program?
If you are a ComEd customer, generally, ComEd will not impose any switching fee for participating in Aggregation Program.
Who is eligible to participate?
Residential or small commercial customers located in the Village of Oak Brook may participate. A "Small Commercial Customer" is a retail customer with an annual electricity consumption of less than 15,000 kilowatt-hours. Customers enrolled in real time pricing, Power Smart Pricing, electric space heat rate, or served by an alternative retail electric supplier may also be eligible but are not automatically enrolled. If you are in one of these programs or with a different supplier, you will need to review your pricing and contractual obligations in order to determine which options are available to you at this time. You may always call us with any eligibility questions at 312-260-0885.
How do I enroll in the Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Program?
The Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Program is an opt-out program. That means that there is nothing you need to do to enroll. You will automatically be included in the aggregation program, unless you choose not to participate and opt-out.
Qualifying Village of Oak Brook residents who previously opted-out of the program, recently moved to the Village of Oak Brook community, or are receiving service from another supplier may still enroll in the program. Click the Enroll button below to enroll today through our quick, easy enrollment process or call us at 312-260-0885. Please have your utility account number for enrollments.
Do I have to participate in the Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Program if I do not want to?
No. Although the Village of Oak Brook Aggregation Program is designed to provide savings for you, residents and small businesses that do not want to participate can opt-out without penalty. To opt-out, you just need to return the opt-out form attached to the opt-out letter you received.
If I am automatically enrolled in the program now, can I leave the program at any time?
You may leave the program at any time without incurring any early termination fees.
Can I enroll later if I opt-out now?
You may request to join the program online at http://www.eligoenergy.com/cities/il/oakbrook or call 312-260-0885 for enrollment information. You may also visit www.eligoenergy.com for other rate plan options. Program terms and conditions may differ from the aggregation program.

Will ComEd continue to service my account?
Yes, nothing will change in terms of receiving your electricity or any customer service. ComEd will continue to read your meter, service your account and send you one bill each month. You will continue to contact ComEd for any billing or service questions or if your power ever goes out.
Who shall I call if there is an outage or issues with my electricity bill?
ComEd will remain responsible for the delivery of the electricity. All service and billing questions will continue to be directed to ComEd. To reach ComEd, please call (800) 334-7661.
I'm on ComEd's budget billing plan. Will that change?
No, you can stay on the budget-billing plan.
Can I still have my payment automatically deducted from my checking account as I do now?
Yes. The way you pay your ComEd bill will not change.
Will someone come to my home or call to sign me up?
No one from Eligo Energy or the Village of Oak Brook will ever visit your home to sign you up, or call you to enroll. If someone calls or visits your home, that person is not from the Government Aggregation program.
What is the downside of the program?
Residents of municipalities that enrolled in aggregation programs over the last three years in the State of Illinois are reporting no negative issues and are generally pleased with the reduced rates on their electric bills and rate stability. Deregulation of energy in Illinois has resulted in downward pressure on prices across the State.
